Today, October 20, at the initiative of the Permanent secretariat in collaboration with the Directorate of Law and Consular Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European integration, Centre for combating trafficking in human beings, the subdivision of the General Inspectorate of the Police within the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Mission of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe in Moldova was held a public lecture on "The risks of the phenomenon of trafficking in human beings".
The event took place at the State Institute of International Relations of Moldova and was meant to raise awareness and inform students at the Faculty of law, international relations and political science about the phenomenon of trafficking in human beings and the consequences of this social scourge.
The main issues addressed in the context of the lecture focused on: national policies on preventing and combating trafficking in human beings in the Republic of Moldova; the activities on the prevention and combating of trafficking in human beings of the Law and Consular Relations Directorate; the work of the Centre for combating trafficking in human beings in the field of combating trafficking in human beings at national, geographical areas of destination and the type of exploitation of victims of trafficking in human beings, the dynamics and the representativeness of the trafficking in human beings and trafficking in children; the collaboration of the Organization for security and cooperation in Europe in terms of anti-trafficking projects implemented in Moldova.
Students had the opportunity to gain practical knowledge and interact with representatives of the concerned institutions. The event ended with a donation of books for IRIM library.
